“I always say that when the phone rings, it’s an opportunity to fix someone’s problems for them,” says Jody Nicholas of Nicholas Insurance. The husband and wife team of Greg and Jody Nicholas have been meeting York’s personal and business insurance needs since 1983. Next in line is their daughter, Alyssa Allen. Alyssa began working with the agency when she was just 15 years old, doing mostly filing work. Since those early days, Alyssa is now fully licensed in life and health, as well as property and casualty insurance. Justin Nicholas, Greg and Jody’s son, works at Nicholas Insurance full-time through the summer and part-time throughout the rest of the year. Justin is licensed in property and casualty insurance, and is currently working toward licensure for life and health insurance. A senior in college, Justin plans to join the family business upon graduation.

The office atmosphere at Nicholas Insurance is a friendly one, where there is no such thing as a stupid question. Customers pick up on the family environment of the office too. “We hope they leave feeling like they’re part of our extended family,” says Greg. “We treat them like family.”

The Nicholas family has developed quite a family of customers.
