Even with the threat of rain storms on Sunday afternoon, over 1500 Harley Riders sporting their bikes did a 50 mile motorcycle ride through York County, Pennsylvania. The rally is to show support to Keep Harley in York, PA.
The Harley-Davidson Springettsbury plant employs over 2500 workers, and many are long term employees who add a tremendous value to the Harley Brand.
In the current economy we need to keep good strong employers in York county. The ripple effect of Harley-Davidson leaving York would be like reliving the exit of Caterpillar tractor many years ago. We at the Nicholas Agency see the great value that the Harley-Davidson Plant brings to our community. That is why the Nicholas Insurance Agency has signed the petition to keep Harley in York, PA.
Those of us who call York county home take great pride in the Harley plant. Greg Nicholas of Nicholas Insurance said “When I travel, and people ask where I’m from, I proudly tell them ‘I’m from York, Pennsylvania, and we build Harley Davidson Motorcycles there.'”
The Fox43 ride to save our plant was an awesome event. There is now a group riding to Milwaukee to present the petition to the home office of Harley in hopes of keeping Harley-Davidson a part of our great York County.
